Beginning in 2009, the Deer Creek Public School district embarked on an ambitious $140 million expansion program for a rapidly growing suburban Oklahoma City school district.

Those projects included the following:

Deer Creek Middle School #2 - A new 160,000 square foot middle school campus which includes classroom, media, laboratories, dining, kitchen,three gymnasiums, football field, tennis courts,baseball and softball fields and all support spaces. This building was served by 5 ground coupled water source heat pump systems making this the most energy efficient building of its type in the region.

Deer Creek High School Stadium - The football stadium received a complete make over. This included new turf, a new track, new field lighting and press box building. The press box included restrooms, concessions, weight room and two level press box with radio and television broadcast capabilities.

Deer Creek Multi Sports Complex - This 40,000 square foot west end zone complex provides training, locker, meeting and classroom space for football, baseball, softball, soccer, tennis and track programs. Additional spaces include a full commercial kitchen, banquet seating, restrooms and second level seating for football and track
events. The complex is served with a boiler and chiller plant that can be connected to an
envisioned district hydronic system in the future.

Deer Creek High School Media Center - This 7,000 square foot addition to the existing high school includes classic library space but in addition includes computer rooms, study rooms, a coffee bar with Seattle style seating and fire place for use by the students.

Deer Creek Freshman Academy - This 25,000 square foot, two level structure was constructed adjacent to the existing high school. It consists of classroom, office, kitchen, dining and support spaces for a self contained academy.

Deer Creek High School Classroom Addition - An additional 26,000 square feet of classroom space was added to the existing High School building.

Deer Creek Administration Building - An existing 3,000 square foot administration building was gutted and converted into a 11,000 square foot administration complex. It featured office suites for administration, counseling, data services and large board room.

Deer Creek Maintenance Complex - This 20 acre site includes offices for maintenance and transportation departments, bus and other district vehicle maintenance bays, an enclosed bus washbay, a separate warehouse and wood shop and bus parking with engine warming stations for 60 current busses expandable to 120 busses.

Spring Creek Elementary School - This is the fifth and newest elementary school for the rapidly growing district. The building consists of 28 classrooms, safe room constructed media center, offices, art, band, commercial kitchen and cafeteria with stage area. This school is heated and cooled with a ground coupled water source heat pump
system.

Deer Creek Performing Arts and Athletics Complex - This structure combines a 2,200 seat basketball arena with a 1,200 seat performing arts center. The performing arts theater includes the best concert sound and lighting in the region. There is a
central lobby connecting both functions. The Athletics wing encompasses training spaces, lockers and offices for the basketball program. The performing arts wing includes band and choir practice rooms, scene shop, green rooms as well as restrooms and concession spaces. This complex is heated and cooled with a ground coupled multistack heat pump chiller and boiler. This mechanical plant is the expandable and is the basis for an envisioned district system serving the multi sport complex and future expanded high school building.
